About Us
Mission & Background
The mission of the BWRC Fund is to improve survival from breast and women’s reproductive cancers by improving early detection and expanding existing education, screening, treatment, and quality of life services throughout Colorado. The BWRC Fund has been a check-off program since the 2007 tax year.
The Fund was developed by advocates who were passsionate about preventing more people from unnecessarily "falling through the cracks." Read more about some of the folks who need help but don't qualify for government or non-profit assistance on our grants page.
This mission is accomplished by education initiatives, collaboration with community partners, and a competitive grants program. Grants are administered by the Colorado Cancer Coalition (CCC) in collaboration with the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance (COCA), Colorado Breast Cancer Task Force, and many other partners across the state.
The BWRC Fund addresses the significant screening, treatment, and survivorship needs for Coloradans affected by these cancers. The intention of the BWRC Fund is to complement, not duplicate, current initiatives, therefore, grants assist people not adequately served by existing services and programs.
The BWRC Fund is a project of the Colorado Cancer Coalition, which serves as the chamber of commerce for cancer-related organizations and individuals with the purpose of saving lives from cancer in Colorado.
Jennifer was 32 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She's been surviving for seven years.
You are never too young for cancer but you can be too young for some of the existing programs. That's why the BWRC Fund was created.
